What kind of text can I use?
You can use almost any plain text. This feature is perfect for practicing with articles, essays, reports, song lyrics, or even your own code snippets. Simply paste it into the box or upload a `.txt` file.
Is there a limit to the amount of text I can import?
While there isn't a strict limit, we recommend using texts between 100 and 500 words for the best experience. The test is currently set to a 1-minute duration, so extremely long texts will not be fully tested.
How are Words Per Minute (WPM) calculated on custom text?
Your WPM is calculated based on the standardized formula: every five characters you type (including spaces) counts as one "word." This ensures your score is consistent and comparable across all tests on our site.
What file formats can I upload?
Currently, you can upload plain text files with a `.txt` extension. We recommend this format as it does not contain any complex styling that could interfere with the test.
